The body is cast from 431 stainless steel and the face is H420 high-strength steel (50% stronger, which allows the face to be 30% thinner than other irons). The new material is used to its full potential by combining with the flowed progressive design of the Viper HT irons . The #3 and #4 are true hybrid designs which progress to the #5 and #6, which are hybrid-irons and then the #7 through wedges are hollow cavity back irons. All lofts in the set feature hollow technology with the H420 face. This hybrid progressive set is designed to be assembled with -inch length increments from the #6 through the wedges. The longer irons (#3, 4, 5) should be assembled with -inch increments to have maximum distance and consistent yardage gaps between clubs.

The HS300 face material has the highest strength and lowest elongation of any steel face material the Golfsmith R&D staff has ever tested.
